Obey your Parents !

 "Obey your Father and mother , so your days would be Long"

So your days would be long ? 

Well this was not the case for Ebuka ! 

Ebuka was the first son of the Obi Family , the Obi family was a dynasty-like family , known for always producing the best of pilots , Ebuka's great grand father was Donald Obi of Obi airlines , the very first pilot to fly a plane across the shores of Africa .

It was a tradition for every first son of the Obi family to become a pilot in a bid to keep the family legacy , it went on for three generations until it got to Ebuka's , Ebuka was not having it , he had always dreamt of having a restaurant down the street , his Love for cooking was next to none , he wanted to attend culinary school and pursue his dream , he was sure to make it big but no , his Parents were not having it , the first son and only child of the CEO of Obi airlines a cook ? Not happening ! 

Ebuka was somehow forced to abandon his dream and keep the family legacy flaming , at the end of the day family comes first right ? And children have to obey their parents , so Ebuka went to aviation school and was a complete dullard but his Family's name paved way for him , he graduated top of his class and his Life started as a pilot ! He flew to different parts of the world as a co-pilot until that faithfully unfaithful day when his chief pilot fell ill and Ebuka was made to fly impromptu , he took charge as he was saddled with the responsibility of flying his Father Mr Chukwuma Obi and 159 other passengers from Nigeria to Europe .

He got into the air and he was doing good not until he was met with a turbulence , he lost control and the plane was going down , it was obvious he wasn't going to make it because he barely paid attention during practical classes , there were choruses of "blood of Jesus" in soprano , alto , tenor and bass , even baritone was not left out but there was no blood of Jesus coming to save anyone , when Ebuka was sure that he wasn't going to make it , he took the in-plane microphone and with tears raining down his troubled cheek , he said to the hearing of everyone "Father , now that we are about to die and I would be responsible for the death of all these innocent people , I hope your cherished family legacy lives on" , the plane crashed seconds after this and not a single soul survived , Ebuka's lack of professionalism caused the death of 160 passengers and over 10 crew members on the 12th of December 2009 .

Dear Parents , I understand you are coming from a place of Love but it is not just wrong , it is criminal to dictate to your children what career path they should ply , DO NOT assume you know your child more than themselves , allow them dream , allow them follow their path , your role in your child's career choice is advisory , you have lived your Life , allow them live theirs , you are not God , you can not dictate to another individual his/her destiny path , it is selfish to want to make your child live your own dream or keep up with a family legacy , the effect of this is both dangerous and depressing !
